For something different, something from the past, get together with family and friends on the Grand lawn. Surrounded by the lush Grand Hotel Tea Garden, our expansive lawn is the picture-perfect setting for summer pastimes like oversized lawn games, cornhole, and other classics. Croquet is a popular favorite — you can easily imagine what it was like to play here, back when our doors opened in 1887!

All equipment is provided free of charge throughout the day, and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Tea Garden, next to the swimming pool.

The lawn is also a great place for children and adults to stretch their legs. Spectators can sit on nearby benches to watch the friendly competitions, or take advantage of some great photo opps next to the Tea Garden’s stone fountain and topiaries.)
